The rush of a direct injection 2.5 litre V6
Light weight yet eagerly responsive, the all-alloy Quad Cam 2.5 litre V6 performs the moment you touch the throttle. Direct injection means fuel is sprayed into the cylinders at extremely high pressure, improving combustion. It also allows for a higher compression ratio, for more power across the revolution range. IS250's V6 engine also offers great fuel economy and low emissions.
Greater response through dual VVT-i
You can have enhanced performance on demand, or superior economy when you want it. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) on the intake and the exhaust valves optimises engine breathing and efficiency at all engine speeds.
Dual exhausts open up performance
A dual exhaust system incorporating two main mufflers reduces back-pressure and frees up the performance of the engine.
Sequential automatic with paddle shifters
The 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters on the steering wheel lets you shift gears manually, for a Formula One inspired driving experience. This fingertip shifting function is available when the shift lever is in the 'M' and the 'D' range. Or, in 'D' position, the intelligent transmission shifts gears seamlessly, for smooth acceleration.
Responsive Electric Power Steering
Intuitive Electric Power-assisted Steering ensures greater road feel at higher speeds. Then in tight parking situations, steering assist is increased for easier manoeuvrability.
Liquid filled bushings
For a more refined ride, the front suspension has large, liquid-filled bushings at the rear mount of the lower arms to reduce noise, vibration and harshness. More-responsive 'Monotube' shock absorbers help achieve a flat ride while improving traction, ride quality and comfort.
Multilink rear suspension
To adhere to undulating roads, the IS 250 has an advanced-design, multilink rear suspension system. An aluminium carrier reduces weight and improves response. Double link upper suspension arms optimise the geometry and further save weight.
Optional Sports Suspension
The optional IS 250 Prestige Sports Package offers Sports Suspension that has been optimally tuned to achieve superb handling and exceptional ride comfort. Sports Suspension includes enhanced front and rear stabilizer diameters to improve roll rigidity, while the multi-link rear suspension has improvements to the shock absorber damping force, which helps to provide better road holding.
